Power Converter

Power ConverterA power supply is sometimes referred to as a power converter because it converts its input power, both voltage and current, to other levels. The output wattage (voltage x current) remains the same as the input wattage, less the loss of conversion. For example, a 6 volt 20 amp output would draw a little more than 1 amp from a 120 volt input. A power converter may have either an AC or DC input. Power converters most commonly have a DC output, and when the output is AC, the term ‘Inverter’ is usually used.

Acopian manufactures both AC-to-DC and DC-to-DC power supplies/power converters.
